3. Cookies

  • мову, тему й скіни інтерфейсу, розмір тексту фрагментів і вигляд карток книг;
  • сесію входу Firebase Authentication та кеш профілю для швидкого показу аватара;
  • автозбереження чернеток ходу й чернетки нової книги, ще не надіслані повідомлення чату, стан вікна чату;
  • обрану мову для перекладу в книзі, стан таблиць випадковостей, позначку, що пропозицію встановити застосунок уже показано;

  • знати, які ваші дані ми обробляємо, навіщо і кому передаємо, та отримати їх копію;
  • виправити неточні дані — більшість із них можна змінити самостійно в профілі;
  • вимагати видалення даних і акаунта;
  • обмежити обробку або заперечити проти неї, зокрема проти обробки на підставі законного інтересу;
  • отримати свої дані в машиночитному форматі (портативність); текст своїх книг можна вивантажити через експорт;
  • відкликати згоду в будь-який момент — наприклад, вимкнути сповіщення чи відв'язати Telegram; це не впливає на законність обробки до відкликання;

Privacy Policy

Version of 19 October 2026

This Policy is written in Ukrainian. This English version is a translation provided for convenience; if the two differ, the Ukrainian version prevails.

This Policy explains what personal data the Spilna Knyha service (spilnaknyha.com) collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can control your data. It supplements the Terms of Use.

1. Who is responsible for your data

1.1. The controller of your personal data is the spilnaknyha.com project (“we”, “us”). The Service is in testing, and its operator is not yet registered as a business; once it is, we will add the operator's details to this Policy.

1.2. Contact for personal data matters: support@mail.spilnaknyha.com.

1.3. We process data in line with the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection” and, for users in the European Union and the European Economic Area, also in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect

2.1. Account data: email, internal user ID, the method of your first sign-in (email, Google or Telegram), and the date you signed up. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google. Passwords are stored by Firebase Authentication as hashes — we never see them.

2.2. Profile and settings: display name, handle and its change history, “About me” text, avatar, language, interface theme and skin, personal labels and pinned books in the Studio, and your plan (Free or Premium) with its dates.

2.3. Content: books, their Charters and signed book agreements, fragments and their edit history, turn drafts, lore cards, book chat messages, reviews (with their change history), comments and reactions.

2.4. Social data: friends and friend requests, follows of authors and books, blocked users, and invitations and requests to join books.

2.5. Reports and moderation: reports you file and reports about your content, moderation decisions, blocks, the administrators' action log, automatic flags from the internal word list, and your account's trust level (calculated from events in books and moderation).

2.6. Support requests: messages you send through the contact form, plus the request's technical context — the page address, app version, language and browser details (user agent).

2.7. Notifications: channel settings; device tokens for web push (Firebase Cloud Messaging); for Telegram — your Telegram ID and username, the IDs of the chats, groups and channels you have connected, subscriptions, and unfinished drafts sent to the bot; for email notifications — your account's email address.

2.8. AI features: requests to AI features, their results (including cached ones), and usage records — number of requests, volume and limits used.

2.9. MCP connection: OAuth client data, and access codes and tokens, which we store only as hashes.

2.10. Technical data: your IP address is used to limit request rates; for this it is held only in the server's memory and is not written to the database. Google Cloud infrastructure keeps request logs (IP address, time, page address and browser details). When an error occurs, Sentry may receive a technical report: stack, route, app version, browser type and internal account ID; book text, drafts, form content, email and tokens are not sent.

2.11. We do not collect payment data or precise location, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers. Sentry is used only to diagnose errors, not for analytics or advertising. We do not ask for special categories of data (about health, religion and so on); if you include such data in your own text, it is processed as part of your content.

3. Cookies and browser storage

3.1. The site itself does not set cookies and does not use advertising or analytics cookies. When you sign in with Google, Google's page may set its own cookies on its own domains under Google's rules.

3.2. The Service stores in your browser (localStorage, IndexedDB, the service worker cache) only what it needs to work:

  • interface language, theme and skins, fragment text size and book card layout;
  • your Firebase Authentication sign-in session and a profile cache to show your avatar quickly;
  • autosaved turn drafts and the draft of a new book, chat messages not yet sent, and the chat window state;
  • the chosen translation language for a book, the state of randomness tables, and a note that the app install prompt has already been shown;
  • site files in the service worker cache, so the site opens faster and works as an app.

3.3. This data stays on your device. You can delete it in your browser settings; you may then need to sign in and set up the interface again.

3.4. The site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser shares your IP address with Google.

4. Why we process data and on what legal basis

  • Providing the Service — your account, books, publishing, reviews, friends, follows and export. Basis: performance of our contract with you, i.e. the Terms of Use (Article 11 of the Law “On Personal Data Protection”, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • AI features — hints, chapter summaries, formatting and so on. Basis: performance of the contract when you start a feature; for automatic summaries of closed chapters, our legitimate interest in making the book easier for co-authors to work with (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Browser, Telegram and email notifications. Basis: your consent — you turn these channels on yourself and can turn them off at any time.
  • Security, moderation, handling reports and preventing abuse, including rate limiting and the trust level. Basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the Service and its users, and compliance with the law.
  • Answering support requests. Basis: performance of the contract and our legitimate interest.
  • Complying with the law and requests from competent authorities. Basis: legal obligation.
  • Data of children under 14 — with the consent of their parents or other legal guardians (section 9).

4.1. We do not sell personal data, show advertising or use data for advertising profiling.

4.2. The trust level is calculated automatically and may restrict certain account features. We do not make decisions with legal effects on you by purely automated means: account blocks and decisions on reports are made by people. You can appeal any restriction via support@mail.spilnaknyha.com.

5. Who sees your data and who we share it with

5.1. Other users see your display name, handle, avatar and “About me” text, as well as your content: in public books, anyone can see it, including guests and search engines; in private books, only the book's members. Reviews and their comments are public. Your email is not shown to other users.

5.2. Platform administrators can access data to the extent needed for moderation, support and running the Service.

5.3. Processors and recipients that handle data on our behalf or to run features you have connected:

  • Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC): Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Hosting, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Cloud Run, Cloud Tasks, Cloud Logging and Google Fonts — storing and processing all Service data, sign-in, and web push delivery.
  • Google Vertex AI (Google Cloud): for AI features, receives the book's Charter, chapter summaries, the texts of fragments in the current chapter, your draft (if the feature works with it) and authors' handles where the context needs them. Your email and sign-in data are not sent. Under Google Cloud's terms, this data is not used to train Google's models without the customer's permission.
  • TypeSafe (typesafe.ai): for “decision” features, such as turn hints and ranking directions in the turn Constructor, receives the same book context — the Charter, chapter summaries, fragments in the current chapter, the draft and the author's handle. Your email and sign-in data are not sent.
  • Telegram: if you connect the bot or sign in with Telegram — the text of notifications (book titles, author names, events) and your messages to the bot.
  • Resend (Resend, Inc.): delivering email notifications and emails to administrators about new support requests — the recipient's address and the email text.
  • Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.): technical error diagnostics for web, admin and API — internal account ID, route, app version, browser type and error stack; user content and form text are not sent.
  • Competent public authorities — only in the cases and in the manner provided by law.

6. International transfers

6.1. The Service's server runs in the Google Cloud europe-west1 region (Belgium). Other Google services, as well as Vertex AI, TypeSafe, Telegram, Resend and Sentry, may process data in other countries, including the United States; we select the EU data region for Sentry.

6.2. We transfer data abroad only to providers that ensure adequate protection: based on European Commission adequacy decisions (including the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified companies) or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. Under Article 29 of the Law “On Personal Data Protection”, such transfers are also necessary to perform our contract with you.

7. How long we keep data

  • Account, profile and settings — for as long as the account exists. After the account is deleted, we delete them within 30 days, except for the data described below.
  • Fragments and messages in shared book chats — for as long as the book exists; after the account is deleted, they are anonymised (see section 13 of the Terms of Use).
  • Reviews — until you delete them or until the account is deleted; comments are anonymised after the account is deleted.
  • Reports, moderation decisions and the administrators' action log — for as long as needed to handle the case and protect against repeat breaches, but no longer than three years after the case is closed.
  • Support requests — up to two years after the last message.
  • Web push tokens — while they remain valid or until you turn notifications off; the Telegram connection — until you unlink it.
  • Temporary records (Telegram sign-in and linking codes, OAuth codes, the AI response cache) are deleted automatically when they expire.
  • Google Cloud request logs — usually up to 30 days.
  • Sentry error reports — up to 90 days.

7.1. We keep data longer only where the law requires it.

8. Your rights

8.1. Under Article 8 of the Law “On Personal Data Protection” and the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • know what data of yours we process, why and who we share it with, and get a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate data — you can change most of it yourself in your profile;
  • have your data and account deleted;
  • restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interest;
  • receive your data in a machine-readable format (portability); you can download the text of your books with the export;
  • withdraw consent at any time — for example, by turning off notifications or unlinking Telegram; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal;
  • not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that has legal effects on you.

8.2. To exercise your rights, write to support@mail.spilnaknyha.com. We will reply within 30 calendar days. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours.

8.3. You can also lodge a complaint with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (ombudsman.gov.ua) or, if you are in the EU or EEA, with the data protection supervisory authority in your country.

9. Children

9.1. People of any age may use the Service. A child under 14 may use it only with the consent of their parents or other legal guardians; users aged 14 to 18 use it with their knowledge.

9.2. If you are in the EU and processing is based on consent, then for a child younger than the age set in your country under Article 8 GDPR (between 13 and 16), consent is given by the parents or other legal guardians.

9.3. “18+” content is behind a warning, and minors must not open it.

9.4. If you are a parent or other legal guardian and believe a child has given us data without your consent, write to support@mail.spilnaknyha.com — we will help restrict or delete the account.

10. Security

10.1. We protect data with organisational and technical measures: connections are encrypted (HTTPS), sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, clients have no direct access to the database — only through the server, secrets are kept on the server only, access tokens are stored as hashes, and administrators get only the access they need.

10.2. No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that puts your rights at risk, we will inform you and, where the law requires, the supervisory authority.

11. Changes to this Policy

11.1. We may update this Policy. The new version is published on this page with its date; we will announce material changes in the Service or by email in advance.
